The 2007 Downtown Holiday Market!
Diverse Markets Management, in partnership with the Downtown DC BID, is pleased to announce The 2007 Downtown Holiday Market. It will operate 2 ½ weeks before Christmas opening Friday, December 7th, and running continuously for a total of 17 days, ending Sunday, December 23rd. Advertised hours for the Market will be from 12 noon to 8 pm each day.
This extraordinary event will be located on the wide sidewalk of F Street, between 7th and 8th Streets NW, in front of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art and National Portrait Gallery. It is directly across the street from the GalleryPlace-Chinatown Metro stop, the Verizon Center, and among the bustling 7th Street Gallery Place corridor. Opposite the Market are Hotel Monaco, the Spy Museum, and two upscale restaurants.
The Downtown DC Holiday Market is a high quality gift market featuring a diverse display from exhibitors of many types of merchandise, as well as food and beverage vendors. Products of interest include high quality art, crafts, textiles and other fine gift items.

Art Night at Hickok Cole Coming Up......



Once again, Hickok Cole Architects is teaming with the Washington Project for the Arts\Corcoran to host Art Night 2007. Over 50 local artists will showcase their work, and everything is for sale. Benefiting the WPA\C and the artists, 50% of all proceeds from the sale of the artwork on Art Night will be donated to WPA\C on the artists behalf.Curator, Jayme McLellan, Director of Civilian Art Projects assisted by Adrienne Johnson, has selected exciting and dynamic works created by local, contemporary artists working in a variety of mediums. WPA\C’s proceeds from sale of artwork will be used to further its mission – to promote and present experimental exhibitions, programs and performances that benefit local residents. Last year Art Night raised over $35,000.00 for WPA\C. The exhibition runs through October 26, 2007.
