Vastu is pleased to welcome artists Cherie Lester and Emilie Keim.

The recent works of Cherie Lester are inspired by her many years of study of architectural elements. These new abstract paintings are part of her continuing series of textural, mixed media, decollaged works on paper, wood and fabric. Comforting and strong, these pieces offer strength and solidity, with wisps of whimsy.

Emilie Keim works with urban landscape and row-homes of the neighborhoods around her.She is intrigued with painting close-up views of backyards and rooms. Honest paint on board and a blend of reality with abstract style makes her work impressionistic, and comforting. Her color selection is exquisite. This body of work documents the personal spaces, domestic life and privacy within her home city, Philadelphia.

I'm very excited to be showing my work in January 2011 (soon!) at Vastu on 14th Street. I'll have 20 new pieces in all, hanging in their fantastic showroom amongst wonderful Knoll and Herman Miller furniture.
